Description of the Pro Center Chris Schill at Karpathos
There are two Pro Center at Karpathos with different conditions: The always windy Devils Bay is for racers and freestylers due to the flat water. The Lagune are suitable for both, - beginners and experienced surfers.
The benefit of windsurfing at Karpathos is, everybody can choice between different surfareas.
Pro Center Devils Bay - Flatwater
The Pro Center in the Devils Bay is the most popular place to windsurf at Karpathos. In summer the wind is very constant with an average strength of 5-7 Beachfort and a water temperature of 24 degrees. In the totally flat water it is easy to practice new moves and you are able to do progress within few days.
People who like short and sharp waves can find these just 100 meters outside of the bay. You get waves of approximately one meter height, for all kinds of jumps. Those of you who rather want to do speed races should stay next to the beach, because there are no waves at all.
The wind is offshore but we take care of your security by watching the bay all the time, and if nessessary, by using our rescue boat to get you back to the beach. On the beach you have fine pebbles and the surf center is only 25 m far from the sea. In the middle of the station is a beachbar, also you find a Shower, Toilettes, dressings rooms and free deckchairs. The Pro Center Devils Bay is equipped with 80 F2 Boards and 140 Arrows Riggs.
Pro Center Lagune – shallow water
The Pro Center Lagune is especially for families with children. We’ve got special stuff for you (e.g. rigs for children), so that a quick progress is guaranteed. Our VDWS approved windsurf instructors offer courses for beginners as well as for advanced surfers. No matter if you want to learn the beach start, water start, sailing in the foot straps, the power shift or new freestyle moves, you are at the appropriate spot.
Outside the shallow water area you’ve got very good freestyle/freeride conditions. Through the channel you are able to surf from the Lagune to the Devil’s Bay and the other way round.
For the young windsurfers between us, the shallow, warm water offers the best opportunity to have some first steps on the surfboard together with daddy, or they can just fool around in the water.
The Pro Center Lagune is equipped with 40 F2 Boards and 60 Riggs from Arrows and also special Junior and Kidsrigg.

If you would like to bring your own gear you can choose to select the Surf-Service-Package. This allows you to bring one board and three sails and includes airport transfers to the F2 Pro Center of your choice, safe storage of your equipment and water safety service during operating hours of the F2 Pro Center. Furthermore you can use our facilities like shower, WC, sunchairs and changing cabinets. If you would like to bring a second board we will grant a 50% discount for the second board. However, this rebate is not applicable if the second board is for a second surfing person.

| Windsurfing Lessons |

Lessons for beginner and intermediates are conduced in the F2 Pro Center Lagune (up to water start). The Lagune offers us perfect conditions for fast learning success with the shallow water and sand beach. The majority of the lagoon is only between 1 - 1.5 meters deep with a sand bed and turquoise water. Together with special boards and sails for children and experienced instructors quick learning progress for young and not so young is practically guranteed. But also the other two F2 Pro Center offer lessons conducted by VDWS certified instructors who can help you improve your manouvers. The flat water of the Devil's Bay is perfect to practice jibes and at the Luv Spot you can collect your first experiences in waves in a safe environment. Sightseeing - pogram & highlights
Sunset-surfing
Two times per week we have all the Pro Center open until 8.00 p.m and we make sunset surfing.
Barbeque in the lagoon
Once a week we arrange a barbecue together with the family of Vasili, in his beachbar at the lagune. The relaxed atmosphere and the delicious Greek food is a nice conclusion after a day of good windsurf action.
Video evenings in the Hotel Poseidon
If we have good windconditions we record the Surfer on video and at the evening we watching all togheter the Jibes and tacks. We takes drinks from the Hotelbar and have a nice evening.

Meeting point in Pigadia
In Pigadia (the lively small capital of Karpathos), which is situated in the south of the island you can have nice Greek food and drinks in many typical Greek restaurants, cafes and bars.
In Pigadia you can find supermarkets, shops which sell fruits and vegetables, chemist’s, dentists and a hospital, many internet cafes, bars, clubs and restaurants. From our place to Pigadia it is 13 kilometres.
Every Saturday we go out in Pigadia and enjoy the nightlife in the town.

Sails are changable on demand. Equipment Insurance: Equipment Insurance: per week: 29 Euro, per day: 4,20 Euro (mimimum 3 days) You can choose to take a equipment insurance at your first day on site before going on the water or in advance when making you booking. | About Karpathos |
|
Karpathos has kept its original Greek character when compared to other islands. Besides world class windsurfing conditions and beautiful weather it offers a variety of alternative activities for all tastes. Karpathos has an international airport which serves for flights from Germany, Austria, Holland, Scandinavia, Slovenia, etc. However, even if you can’t get a convenient direct flight from your city you can easily get there via a connecting flight from the major airports in Athens and Rhodes that is operated several times a day by the domestic airline Olympic Airways.
